Stash Teas of India Kashmiri Chai Green Tea, Tea Bags, 18-Count Boxes (Pack of 6) Overview

The Stash Tea Company is headquartered in Portland, Oregon. Founded in 1972, the company derives its name from an entertaining aspect of tea folklore. In earlier centuries, tea was a valuable commodity traditionally transported by clipper ship. The ship's captain often was presented with some of the finest teas for his personal use. This supply was his "stash," stowed carefully as his "private reserve." Today, the term still is used to denote anything put away carefully because of its preciousness. Stash Teas of India Kashmiri Chai Green Tea is a blend of Indian green tea and sweet spices, such as cinnamon, safflower, clove, and allspice, combined with a lingering scent of almond. Brew it up strong with milk and sugar. The Discovery of Tea in India: For centuries tea grew wild and undiscovered in India, protected by dense foliage and torrential monsoon rains. In 1834 the Governor General's Tea Committee asked officers of the British Raj to report on regions of India where Chinese tea might be transplanted. Much to their surprise, the British found wild tea plants flourishing in Assam, in the jungles above the Sacred Brahmaputra River and on the Great Flood Plain along its banks. The first commercial lot of tea ever produced out of India -- eight chests in all -- came from Assam in 1839. Today, India has surpassed China as the greatest tea producer in the world, with gardens in the Broad Valley of the Brahmaputra, The Lush Mountains of South India, and The Rugged Foothills of the Himalaya. Stash Tea has been committed to providing premium quality teas and an unsurpassed tea drinking experience. Stash begins with simply excellent tea leaves from the world's premier tea gardens and all natural botanical ingredients gathered from around the world. Meticulous blending and tasting of every tea ensures you will enjoy full flavor in every cup.
